All About Me

Hello! My name is Serena Nadeau and I am a fifth year student here at CCSU. I am majoring in Spanish (Secondary Education) and Tourism and Hospitality Studies. In the Spring semester of 2019, I spent a semester studying abroad in Seville, Spain, where my passion for the Spanish language and culture was reignited. It was this experience that pushed me to pursue a degree in Spanish. When I am not focusing on my studies and classes, I enjoy spending time with family, friends and my boyfriend. I love baking and have recently taken up mountain biking! I absolutely love to travel and am very intrigued by different cultures and lifestyles, hence my tourism and hospitality degree. 

I am very excited about becoming an educator because I hope to share my knowledge and love for Spanish with my future students. As an educator, I hope to foster a classroom environment that is safe and welcoming to everyone so that it is a place where students can come to have fun while they are learning! I also hope to inspire my students to reach for their dreams and chase after what they are passionate about. Lastly, I would like my students to takeaway from my classes that learning a language is more than just speaking words, it is a means of understanding a culture and a way of life other than our own. This knowledge creates respect and understanding and creates more peace in our diverse world. 

This website will display the two lesson plans for my unit plan about how to conjugate verbs into the present tense in Spanish. The lesson plans will include interactive activities for students to complete that will be displayed on the lesson plans page of this website. This website will also have a PLN page, or a Personal Learning Network page, where I will respond to various questions relating to education technology.

I hope that this website will prove as a useful tool for my future in the field of education.
